Season’s Greetings from the Bakers!

2007 has quickly gone, but not without many events in the Baker household!  The year started off with a blizzard on our wedding day!  The weather was cold and snowy, but inside it was warm and full of love!

In July David and I were able to travel down south to where David’s family lives and where David has spent the past 2 years working on building homes with Operation Love Thy Neighbor.  It was a joy seeing David’s family and seeing what he has been doing for the last two years.  We also were able to spend some time in Florida site seeing and being “newlyweds”.

David and I added to our busy schedule by purchasing a new home in July.  Our house is an older home located in Avon.  We love the character the house has to offer and the location!

In September school started again.   Both David and I are teaching in Marty.  The first grade class has stolen David’s heart and not a day goes by without a fight of who gets to sit by Mr. Baker.  I am getting to be an experienced preschool teacher after 6 years of teaching preschool in Marty.  David and I are still busy with Lake Andes Sunday School.

After a year of living with us, our last set of kids were able to return to their mother.  We are still blessed to have them in our lives and love their frequent visits to our house!  The house didn’t stay quiet for long though because  we have had a new set of kids move in with us in September.

Active 2 year old who loves to watch “Zebra” and “Cars”.  He is working on potty training and adding words to his vocabulary.

And a 1 year old who just mastered walking and is quite proud that he is able to walk around and destroy the house.  Grandma taught him how to climb the steps and we frequently find him at the top of the steps waiting for someone to rescue him!

David and I have “parented” 7 kids, but are excited to even it out by adding the 8th one in June!  Baby “Baker” is expected to arrive at the end of June.

The Baker hosted their first Thanksgiving in their new home this year!  I was quite proud that I didn’t burn the turkey and my gravy wasn’t lumpy!  On our Thanksgiving break, David had a scar of a heart attack, but because of quick responding and prayer, we prevented a full blown heart attack.  By the grace of God, He has been able to control his heart and his diabetes through medicine.

We hope that this letter finds you well.  May God Bless you this holiday season and in the New Year to come.

Love,
The Bakers
